Hey everyone, it is February and it’s that time of the month again. Another blog post from yours truly.
Jacob here, coming in hot with some potent wisdom for today. Before I get into everything and what has been on my mind though, I want to talk about what has been going on with me since I last talked with you guys.
You know me, been at the bars every weekend just partying my little face off. Yea right, like that was happening. For real though, I’ve been in the zone working on some new pieces and I’m almost done with them. I will have some pictures of those coming your way in the near future. Hopefully I can have pictures of my latest art work to you guys by the time my next blog post comes around.
Ok, now for the fun part and a cool story I know you guys will love. Every year around February 1st, we drive South about 8 hours to Coeur d’Alene Idaho to visit my parents where they have now retired. This is a beautiful, remote town with a population of roughly 60,000 people with a few amazing lakes surrounding it.
While I was there, my mind was racing with all the ideas I had for different art paintings. You can’t not go there and get inspired. The place is just amazing.
Anyways, while I was there I started to get this insane amount of pain in my gums right below one of my teeth. I was trying to hold off until I got back home to Toronto but I couldn’t hold off any longer. It was just to painful. Therefore, while I was still in CDA Idaho, I was forced to go into one of the local dental clinics (my parents dentist) to get my tooth ache checked out.
Once again, just like its city, the dental office was immaculate. Spotless and gorgeous. A younger gentleman owned the practice and his name was Dr. Nathan Bourassa. Super nice guy and long story short he fixed my pain.
Ok here is the cool part I wanted to tell you about. Sorry, I had to explain that section above to set the story. When I was waiting in his office to be seen, I started to look around and I noticed all this art on the walls.
I started to think to myself “hmmmm, these are pretty good.. I wonder who he bought these from?”
I then had the brilliant idea that maybe this dentist would want to buy some of my art work. It was just an idea, but I figured it wouldn’t hurt to ask him if he was in the market to buy some more art for his dental practice or maybe even at home.
The nurse called my name, and before you know it, he is treating me and we start shooting the bull about everything in life.
You WON’T believe this though my friends. All the art on the walls of his dental clinic were made by him. How cool is that?
He is a dentist and an artist. I couldn’t believe it. We talked long past my actual scheduled appointment time limit. I thought that was really cool, getting to see a dentist’s own artwork on his own walls of his practice. They were beautiful too.
It was an awesome experience (to see all of that) and an amazing vacation as a whole.
What is an amazing story you have from one of your last vacations?
